The Role
The successful Investment Manager candidate is responsible for monitoring, tracking and advising on the investment performance and reporting of key organizational metrics. Analysing investment opportunities and financial products. Financial modelling. Preparation and presenting investment ideas to VP Investments, and supporting VP investments in the Investment Committee and Board. Take a proactive and leading role in supporting the implementation of new investment policy and decision making.
Strategic Responsibilities
* Provides investment information and financial advice; works with internal and external parties; and maintains knowledge of a wide range of investment and financial products, including public and private equity.
Functional Responsibilities
* Engages in regular research and reading to stay apprised about the state of the economy, global financial markets, and general current events
* Monitoring, analyzing and proactively advising primarily on public equity but also on other asset classes including private equity, strategic JVs, real estate, bonds, structure products, etc.
* Coordination with brokers to ensure smooth execution of trading strategies
* Presents investment opportunities and related analysis while pitching proposed course of action in meetings
* Comfortable with analyzing and using complex financial models to project future earnings, returns
* Proactively supports the VP in delivering the Group's plans relating to Investments
* Take the functional lead in conducting ?nancial analysis, business reporting, and evaluations of portfolio and new proposed investments
* Manage consultants on due diligence other processes for investment projects
* Complete and administrative task required to affect the investment decisions made by the business
* Prepare regular updates and fact sheets on performance of investments and the portfolio.
* Other ad hoc requests as required by the VP Investments
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, complemented by a master's degree (a plus) with an emphasis on finance/ economics and / or a CFA / ACA / MBA.
* 6-8 years of related experience in Family Office's, Investment Banking, Public or Private Equity industry
* Experience in listed equity and a good understanding of local public equity markets
* Experience in in evaluating diverse investment opportunities including Greenfield Investments, Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate, Joint Ventures etc.
* Highly analytical with strong interpretation and presentation capabilities
* Excellent working knowledge of capital markets as well as the investment management industry and processes
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to influence, persuade recommend to senior leaders of investment opportunities and the organizational benefits
* Knowledge of Business Evaluations and Portfolio Management
* Bloomberg terminal experience
