Nursing Supervisor
RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief of Nursing
BASIC FUNCTION:
Represents Nursing Administration at night and weekends. Responsible for supervision of nursing units. Facilitates continuity of established regimen/comprehensive nursing care delivery. Supports and upholds objectives of Nursing and Hospital Administration, Meets established standards.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
* Serves as a resource and role model for staff,
* Ensures appropriate utilization of nursing nesouTces.
* Refers unit-specific occurrences to Head Nurse and Nursing Administration for follow up,
* Provides input to Head Nurse for staff performance evaluations. Advises, counsels and disciplines staff as required or requested.
* Participates on Nursing and/or HospitaI-wide committees.
* Responds to Code Green, Fire and Disaster Drills.
* Coordinates with other departments.
* Prepares reports and maintains records.
* Serves as a clinical and behavioral model for staff.
* Confers with charge person regarding patient acuity and/or staffing changes required. Determines staffing changes and approves overtime to provide for unplanned situations.
* Observes and evaluates nursing care effectiveness or shift.
* Participates in orientation for new employees. Assists in identification of staff training and educational needs.
* Communicates patient or staff related incidents to Nursing Administration,
* Establishes and achieves targets for Raudization and nationality mix in areas of responsibility, consistent with strategic plan of Nursing and Medical and Clinical Operations.
* Participates in Hospital-wide Performance Improvement activities.
* Follows all Hospital related policies arid procedures.
* Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements
* Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Evidence must be provided.
* Current Registered Nurse Licensure from country of origin required.
* Six (6) years hospital experience as a registered nurse with two (2) years nursing leadership experience required.
