Technical Assistance - UAE (Pipeline)

With growing threats from terrorism, organised crime, trafficking and cyberattacks, defence organisations alone are not fully equipped to deal with the changing risk environment. Our solutions secure the four key domains considered vital to modern societies: government, cities , critical infrastructure and cyberspace. We provided solutions to Mexico City's ambitious security system which incorporates 15,000 cameras, security for major international airports such as Dubai and Durban, as well as helping 10 of the world's largest banks with cybersecurity issues.

RADIO COMMUNICATION PRODUCTS (RCP)

We lead the way in terms of military communications. Our product range covers everything from tactical radio communications and aeronautical communications, navigation, and identification to naval communications and electronic warfare (EW). We work with governments and partner organisations around the world to enable them to play a crucial role in battlefield digitalisation. With our military 800,000 tactical radios in service across over 50 countries, our solutions are integrated into more than 70 types of aircraft and support over 40 navies around the world. We have 40 years' experience in providing electronic warfare (EW) systems and we operate in more than 30 markets

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A TECHNICAL ASSISTANT TO JOIN THE THALES TEAM IN ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.

Key Responsibilities:
•    To fix technical problems on tactical radios (HF, VHF, STaRMille) on ancillaries, accessories, audio/data peripherals (ex: SOTAS, BMP) and on radio software applications (ex: Constellation, TMS, STaR Mission)
•    To advise and propose solutions for technical requests on tactical radios
•    To implement a technical and on-the-job training where specific requirements are delineated
•    To recommend the right mission preparation workflow to local needs.
•    To assist in the customization of Thales delivery for end-users easier capability ramp-up.
•    To provide technical report to the Signal Corps on operations with tactical radios
•    To help the SC's engineering staff to fix any issues arising from day to day operations
•    To maintain close technical liaison with the SC's engineering staff as well as with the Thales's engineering staff
•    To assist in the configuration management of Thales products in service in the UAE (hardware and software version management according to the required upgrades)
•    To assist in the integration of Thales (and eventually non-Thales) products into interoperability solutions adapted to end-users needs (gateways, ad-hoc cables, ICD analysis and solution design, prototyping and evaluation)

Requirements
•    To advise and propose solutions for technical requests on existing radios systems (Connectivity, Zagil, Atlas, Patriot, C4I)
•    To assist in the design of frequencies and IP plans for large scale and cross-domain deployments (ex. LF and PG, VHF and HF)
•    To assist end-users for vehicle/shelter integration, electrical and radio frequency compatibility to analyze performances/limitations of Thales radios
•    To help the SC to choose equipment if needed
•    To explain to SC's engineering staff the main lines on existing systems used in AFAD (Pantsir, GATR, Shorad, …)
•    To share his basic knowledge about SATCOM
