Tax Accountant



Our client, a large firm is currently looking for a Tax Accountant with strong experience in Finance and Taxation.

Job Responsibilities:
•    Prepares company tax/VAT forms and data while offering tax accounting advice to internal company departments
•    Maintains and updates working knowledge of VAT laws and regulations, including new filing practices, deadlines, and any company-specific information
•    Prepares VAT/TAX accruals (if applicable) for company records and accounts
•    Corresponds with all departments to understand business practices and new projects, intercompany transactions and communicates the tax implications of all business practices to senior company managers
•    Develops strong relationships with clients, including understanding their business practices and specific VAT information needs
•    Assists with preparing annual financial records, including meeting deadlines and ensuring all financial practices and records comply with accepted accounting standards
•    Works with financial management officials to develop VAT strategies that involve both incentives and VAT-compliance recognitions
•    Train junior team members to comply with the new tax/vat regulations, and offers knowledge and support to develop their skills in that aspect
•    Detection and evaluation of risks as well as opportunities regarding respective VAT issues
•    Ensuring the completeness of assignments and compliance of budgets as well as prevention of budget overruns
•    Provision of advice on value added tax to the organization as well as ensuring the organization to be up-to-date on changes in tax legislations
•    Preparation of consultancy reports
•    Prepare tax payments
•    Complete monthly, quarterly and annual tax reports
•    Organize and update the company’s tax/VAT database
•    Recommend tax strategies that align with business goals
•    Prepare necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns
•    Share financial data with the accounting department
•    Liaise with internal and external auditors
•    Forecast tax/VAT predictions to senior managers
•    Use corporate ERP to apply all formulas and prepare necessary reports

Requirements
Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and/or Finance from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.
•    Certification similar to a CA, ACA, CPA is strongly preferred.
•    Advanced certification in taxation is considered a strong plus.
•    Manufacturing industry is preferred
•    4 to 6 years of experience with at least 3 years in value-added tax or goods and services tax specialty.
