OPPORTUNITY
Parsons provides construction supervision consultancy to a flagship infrastructure project in Dubai, UAE. The planned development encompasses commercial districts linked by leisure developments that expand into further residential neighborhoods and parks in an area of approximately 400 hectares. Scope of work includes internal roads, external highway intersections, bridges, street lighting, electrical (HV and LV) networks, district cooling, potable water, sewerage, storm water drainage networks, waste management and other structures and infrastructure works.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reviews contractor submittals for all structural aspects of the construction phase by verifying consistency of the contractor’s submittals with respect to adherence to the design criteria and required standards.
Prepares the responses on structural related RFIs.
Takes a pro-active approach in resolving structural issues that may delay the construction schedule.
Ensures contractor compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.   
Ensures all structural reviews comply with internal QA/QC procedures.
Coordinates the schedule for contractor submittals for all structural works to maintain the overall construction schedule, alerts senior management of potential delays.
Provides necessary technical support to the senior management.
Keeps senior management informed as to changes made in the field to ensure timely processing of contract change orders. Assists in preparing change order documentation for structural components of the construction works.
Maintains an overall knowledge of drawings, specifications, general contracts and time schedules.
Attends the weekly technical meetings with the contractor.   
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be assigned.

Requirements
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
At least 10 years of related work experience in large-scale infrastructure projects with extensive bridges, roads structures, and water retaining structures.
Preferably with extensive experience in Dubai.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
