Job description / Role
WMS Systems Supervisor - Logistics - Dubai
To assist the Logistics operations in implementing/modifying the Warehouse Management System, ensuring the scope is delivered in accordance with the agreed standards.
To carry out the day-to-day administration of the Manhattan WMS to ensure continued smooth running of the warehouse operations.
Responsibilities include:
* Provides administrative support to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) team
* Meets ongoing technical support needs which are proposed by logistics operations in line with the growth of the business
* Plan & co-ordinate stock takes & cycle counts
* Ensure housekeeping & safety standards are maintained
* Maintain tight security measures to avoid shrinkage
* Prepare weekly & monthly reports as required
* Meet regularly with IT, Merchandisers & other Retail Departments
* Ensures policies and procedures are maintained
* Assists with identifying and resolving operational and procedural issues
* Participates in brainstorming sessions to streamline current and new processes and to submit process improvement on a consistent basis
* Participates in testing of new WMS applications and improving the performance of existing WMS
* Ensure that staffs are trained & familiar with Company Policies & Procedures. Maintain strict but fair discipline and promote staff development
* Provide expert advice to the team
* Be a leader to Superusers team
* Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships
Manage a team including workload, motivation, training and appraisals
* Motivate own team to increase productivity
* Ensure transparent communication
* Escalate issues to Line Manager as and when necessary
* Inform/guide Employees on performance and company policies and procedures
* Appraise Employees and monitor performance against set goals
* Identify development needs and potential in order to assign appropriate job functions to develop them
* Keep Manager updated on day to day matters. Advise on Employee and staffing problems and recommend resourcing levels to Manager
Requirements
The Person:
* Graduate degree holder or above
* 5+ years Warehouse/ Distribution Centre experience with WMS experience
* Experience in Manhattan WMS/JDA system is an advantage
* Expert in all Microsoft Office including Excel, Project and Visio
* SQL Querying is an advantage
* Good Communication (English)
* Self-motivated professional and natural communicator possessing good technical, initiating, leadership and problem-solving skills and has proven to be a good team player
