Beverage Category Manager

To proactively manage and develop Beverage Categories for specific region(s)/countries through co-ordination with Principals in order to drive company volumes and profit. To market these categories to consumer markets in all company sales channels and to support the sales functions in identified channels of responsibility.

The job holder is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:
•    To produce and implement annual marketing plans for the key beverage principals such that the brand and volume objectives are achieved within agreed cost parameters.
•    Execute marketing activities for the remaining list beverage principals when required.
•    To supply monthly reports to key principals by agreed deadlines so that they have up to date information on sales performance and progress against marketing plans.
•    Act as a liaison between beverage principals and company sales & beverage teams, and working with Beverage Administrator to arrange principal visits.
•    Develop and maintain the companies Beverage Portfolio through sourcing and negotiation with principals to ensure best terms and create the annual Beverage Portfolios for the channels.
•    Train the sales-force in how to gain the most effective sales and displays so that sales and merchandising objectives are met.
•    Liaise with agencies and other third parties to ensure that promotional and point of purchase materials are produced on time and within budgeted cost.
•    Issue LPOs to the approved suppliers, seeking senior manager approval where necessary, so that all spend is correctly monitored.
•    Communicate promotional mechanics and objectives to the sales force sufficiently in advance so that effective sell in can be executed.
•    Work with in the field sales-force to ensure that both they and customers fully understand promotional mechanics and logistics.
•    Organise, execute and man consumer and trade event activities (ie. dinners and tastings).
•    Produce monthly consumer and trade newsletters as required
•    Keep the A&P controller, finance, fully informed on spend vs budget and so that variances to plans can be highlighted to management.
•    Oversee and control stock purchases, forecasts and levels of stock to ensure adequate coverage for all channels in a cost effective manner.
•    Perform other duties as requested by the Line Manager.

Requirements
Essential:

•    Good working knowledge of On-trade, Retail and other channels/business
•    Beverage certification or equivalent specialized professional qualification
•    Strong communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
•    Proven track record of managing promotional activity and a good understanding of the brand/marketing function
•    Strong organizational and time management skills.
•    Sound knowledge of beverages as a product and the beverages industry as a whole.
•    Sales Forecasting Experience
•    Analytical thinking
•    Degree qualified
•    Strong passion for fine dining and beverages
•    Strong social skills and outgoing personality

Location: Based in Dubai OR willing to relocate immediately.
