Senior Resident Engineer - Civil

A Senior Resident Engineer is required to lead the construction supervision work on a large diameter tunnelling project in Qatar, within a design and build environment.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:
* Project Management and leadership with other engineering disciplines including all engineering disciplines covering a range of project requirements during design and supervision
* Liaise with the contractor, the client and the client's project manager.
* Review and implementation and drawings for feasibilities and interfaces between project demands including project dependent, structure and related engineering
* Responsible for timely production and delivery of reliable project solutions
* Responsible for ensuring that the section of works are constructed in accordance with the contract requirements
* Check contractors' submissions and respond to the contractor's request for information
* Observe site safety procedures and actively monitor and report on contractor's safety performance, raising non-conformance reports when required.
* Actively monitor implementation of contractor's quality procedures and raise non-conformance reports when required.
* Responsible for maintaining and enhancing Mott MacDonald's reputation with the client and developing further long-term client relationships

Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
* Member of a Professional Engineering Registration would be essential; accredited with a project management institute would be a distinct advantage
* Minimum of 20 years post-graduation experience in all aspects of supervision of large diameter tunnelling projects, deep underground civil structures and marine works of which 10 years should be in a technical lead or managerial position
* Must be able to demonstrate experience of technical proposals evaluation and its constructability, technology deployment and solving technical problems during course of the project, should they arise
* Experience must include all Health and Safety and Environmental Protection aspects of the construction and operations of large diameter tunnelling projects, deep underground structures and marine works
* Ability to coordinate, cooperate and communication with other construction projects in the vicinity of the project and effectively consult statutory bodies with respect to acquiring necessary approvals and licenses
* Must be fluent in both oral and written English with an excellent capability of technical writing
* Strong leadership quality to lead and motivate a team of Resident Engineers and Inspector as a PMC in a design and build environment
* Proactive acumen and an ability to manage work at multiple areas on site
